A Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputy was arrested after Tumwater police received a domestic violence call last week.

Deputy Daniel R Walwark was detained without incident at around 11 p.m. last Thu., Jan. 27.

Laura Wohl, administrative manager at the Tumwater police department, told The JOLT that officers were dispatched after a caller advised that she was “threatened, slapped, pushed, and the rear window of her vehicle was shattered.” She was not injured.

The deputy was already under arrest by Tumwater police when TCSO personnel arrived at the scene, Wohl said.

“Per policy, the supervisor of the deputy was notified of an incident involving one of their deputies,” she added. “A TCSO sergeant and lieutenant came to the scene to secure the deputy’s duty weapon, badge, commission card, and the keys to his duty vehicle.”

The deputy was booked at the Nisqually Jail for fourth-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief.

Nisqually Jail records show that he was released on Jan. 28.

Wohl said the case has been forwarded to the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney.
