An elderly transient was caught masturbating on a busy street that connects Pacific Ave. with Martin Way, last Thu., Aug. 26 at about 5:15 p.m., according to police.
Joseph Jones, 73, was allegedly committing the lewd act at the 500 block of Devoe St SE.
Olympia police were called by a witness who sai told them the man was sitting on a large rock, not attempting to hide his actions, pants completely down around his ankles.
An officer arrived and observed Jones “sitting butt naked,” masturbating, and then made contact. Jones allegedly picked up a massage gun tool, and told the officer that he was just trying to fix the tool.
While issuing a citation, police learned that Jones had an active Department of Corrections sex offender felony warrant and prior arrests for lewd conduct. Two prior convictions were for possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and a conviction for indecent exposure.
Jones was booked into the Nisqually Jail for his active DOC warrant.
