Roadwork being done on Somerset Hill Drive in Tumwater all month, use alternate routes

Posted

Tumwater is warning motorists of reduced traffic along Somerset Hill Drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday this month, from Wednesday, November 1 to Thursday, November 30.

In a press release, the city said Somerset Hill Drive will be reduced to one-lane alternating traffic to allow private utility contractors to install a new power conduit and utility vaults between R.W. Johnson Boulevard and Thorpe Drive S.W.

“Both lanes will be reopened at the end of each workday, and 2-way traffic will be maintained overnight and on weekends,” Tumwater said.

There will be flaggers and traffic control on the site during construction hours to assist passing motorists.

“Please drive slowly through the work zone and comply with all instructions from flaggers,” the city added. “Use alternate routes if possible.”

Questions and concerns may be addressed to the city’s Transportation & Engineering Services through (360) 754-4140.
