Road closure for tree removal at Desoto Street SW, Tumwater

Desoto Street SW, from N 2^nd Avenue SW to Emerson Street SW, will experience a full road closure from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting Tuesday, September 19, through Friday, September 22, to remove five large, hazardous trees from the right-of-way.

The tree removal operation will involve cutting down the trees, their removal from the site, and the subsequent restoration of the area.

To navigate around the closure, motorists are advised to follow the designated detour route, which will guide them via Division Street SW, N 3^rd Avenue SW, Bates Street SW, and N 5^th Avenue SW.

Flaggers will be present to assist and direct drivers along the detour path.

All sidewalks and bike lanes will also be closed throughout the duration of the work.
