Intercity Transit’s Martin Way Park & Ride Direct Access Project is nearing completion, with final work scheduled to commence and overnight closures to be implemented on key routes.
The northbound ramp from Martin Way to Interstate 5 (I-5) and the single right lane of I-5 closest to the ramp will be closed on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Intercity said in its press statement that the closures are for installing new lighting, completing electrical work, and pouring concrete.
Travelers intending to use Martin Way to access northbound I-5 during the specified times are advised to seek alternate routes.
The Northbound Olympia Express (Route 620) commuters may experience slight delays due to rerouted trips aimed at accessing northbound I-5.
Traffic control measures and detours will be implemented for minimal disruption.
Changes and updates on the construction schedule due to weather conditions and other factors will be communicated through electronic signage to keep motorists informed.
These closures mark the final step in Intercity Transit’s efforts to enhance bus access and expedite service for Olympia Express riders at the Martin Way Park & Ride.
