The Olympia School District (OSD) has created a web page that addresses frequently asked questions about proposed school closures, consolidation, enrollment and planning.
The “OSD Long Term Planning” web page features three sections: “Enrollment, Funding & Why We’re Planning,” “Options, Evaluations & Decision-Making” and “Students, Staff, Facilities & Transitions.”
OSD Superintendent Patrick Murphy referenced the page during an OSD Board of Directors meeting on Oct. 22, at which he answered questions related to the proposed closures of Madison Elementary School, McKenny Elementary School and LP Brown Elementary School.
The OSD Board of Directors recently held a series of public hearings on the proposed closures with each hearing at one of the targeted schools.
The OSD Board of Directors is expected to make a decision on whether to close the schools next month.

The "old" Madison Grade School on Central St. in Olympia was not demolished as stated in one of the Master Plan configurations in the OSD Report attached. It became surplus property and was eventually sold to the New Bridge Community Church - even AI knows this....
