Olympia Artspace Alliance (OAA) announced “Hibernate, A Celebration of Rest, Home, and Creativity,” a new exhibition featuring art installations by students from Olympia schools, viewable now through March 2025.

Hibernate showcases art pieces from the collaboration of students and teachers at Tumwater Middle School, Olympia Waldorf School, Fine Arts Preschool at South Sound Dance and Grapeview School.

“This exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the restful part of the seasonal cycle, celebrating themes of home, comfort, peace, and rejuvenation,” the event’s site stated.

The exhibit can be viewed through the windows of the Goldberg Building at Capitol Way and Fourth Avenue in downtown Olympia.

“OAA invited teachers and their students to create an art installation celebrating the restful part of the seasonal cycle — we encourage you to think about home, shelter, comfort, cozy, peace, rejuvenate, or other themes around our season-long snooze,” a news release stated.

What an incredible exhibit it is! It was very much appreciated at night while strolling through downtown. We have some very talented young artists in our area.
