Olympia seeking participants for Arts Walk this fall

Posted

Olympia is inviting community members to register for its upcoming fall Arts Walk on October 6 to 7 to celebrate the city’s artists.

According to the city’s press release, more than 97 local artists, performers, and creatives participated in this spring’s Arts Walk, drawing in thousands of attendees to the event.

Olympia is offering three ways for community members to participate in the event:

  • Brick-and-mortar businesses may feature artists and performers in their location.
  • Artists and vendors can hold an outdoor booth during the two-day street closure.

Also returning to the event is the Innovation Awards, which selects five projects based on “how well they exemplify innovation/creativity and community engagement through the arts.”

Innovation Awards winners will be featured in future Arts Walk publications, as well as have their registration to a future Arts Walk registration waived.

“Registered participants have an event web page with descriptions & photos, and are included in the printed map,” said Olympia.

Additional information can be found on the event’s website; questions and concerns may be addressed to Olympia Parks, Arts & Recreation Arts Program Specialist Angel Nava at anava@ci.olympia.wa.us.
