Olympia Police catch suspected storage unit thieves, investigation ongoing

Allegedly stole across multiple counties

Posted

Olympia Police Department (OPD) reported in their social media post that they have arrested a pair of robbers after the two allegedly committed robberies across several nearby counties.

The suspects were first seen December 22 last year, when OPD responded to a burglary at a local storage facility.

The suspects, who had cut a hole in the fence, had managed to enter seven storage units, stealing various items, including two handguns.

The incident was captured on security cameras, an Attempt to ID flier that was promptly shared with partner agencies.

On December 24, suspects matching the description were arrested in a neighboring county for similar crimes involving the burglary of more storage units.

The arresting agency collaborated with OPD officers in identifying the suspects through distinctive tattoos.

On January 1, the same suspects were caught on video burglarizing additional storage units in Olympia, stealing multiple items, including firearms.

With the assistance of regional partners, OPD detectives were able to locate and arrest the two individuals involved in this criminal spree.

The investigation is still ongoing, with police speculating there may be additional victims.

Community members who recently had a storage unit burglarized in Olympia and have yet to report it, authorities urge you to contact the OPD Non-Emergency number at 360-704-2740.
