An Olympia man was arrested on Tue., Oct. 5., after he allegedly attacked a woman whom he accused of hacking his phone “for millions of dollars.”

Olympia police said that the suspect, Richard Fogle, 52, became upset with his former roommate turned neighbor over concerns that she hacked his phone.

The woman said Fogle began yelling at her over something on his phone. The suspect also accused her of stealing from him and his family before shoving the woman onto a bed.

The woman said Fogle placed a sharp object against her temple and said, “I will kill you. You don`t know what you are doing.”

“He had the knife up there and was holding me when I was trying to get away from him,” she said, adding that she was unable to leave because “if I tried to move, whatever was stabbing at my temple would go through it.”

The woman sustained an injury to her left temple.

Fogle told police that he yelled at the woman to stop hacking his phone. He claimed that the woman fell onto the bed during the confrontation.

The suspect said there was a crowbar near his bed but denied touching the woman and having knowledge of how she got injured.

The suspect said he told the woman that he could not let her leave because police needed to investigate the hacking.

Asked whether he planned on killing the woman, Fogle told police, “She was killing my family and she can’t kill my family.”

Fogle was booked at the Thurston County Jail for felony unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree assault, and felony harassment for threats to kill.
