On Friday, February 3, the Nisqually Indian Tribe’s Nisqually Markets, managed by Medicine Creek Enterprise Corporation (MCEC), will be holding a grand opening celebration at Camas Plaza with a limited-time offer of 99 cents per gallon for gas.

Camas Plaza is located at 4031 Camas Plaza SE, at the roundabout between Washington state Route 510 and Yelm Highway between Lacey and Yelm.

Activities are set to begin at 10 a.m., with the 99-cent/gallon gas available until 2 p.m. or until supplies last. There will be a 15-gallon limit per vehicle.

96.9 KAYO will broadcast the event live while individuals are filling up on fuel. Nisqually Red Wind Casino also sponsored prizes for a raffle: everyone may enter and join, with customers also receiving casino swag goodies.

What’s in the location?

The site will be the new location of the Nisqually Markets convenience store, and it will also hold Camas Coffee House, and Shell fueling services.

Nisqually Markets General Manager Charie Coulliette said that they are excited to open and showcase the new location.

“This has been a project that could not have happened without the support of the Nisqually Tribal Council, MCEC Board Members, MCEC, Nisqually Construction as well as many other members of the team,” Coulliette shared.

MCEC Director of Business Development Tony Liberal described the new Camas Coffee House as a ‘free conference room that community groups can use for gatherings,’ the convenience store ‘will have fresh food with an area to dine in,’ and the fueling services ‘will ensure that folks can have access to affordable transportation for their families at the most competitive fuel prices around.’

“Camas Plaza is an endeavor built from the ground up with the community in mind,” said Liberal.

Several people are expected to attend the event, and the queue will start across the street from the Nisqually Red Wind Casino. Attendees are encouraged to follow the signs for easy access.

Law enforcement will be present to facilitate traffic.
