Newly launched Route 14 brings prizes to Olympia’s riders

Intercity Transit and Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) are reminding the public that there’s still time to join the Route 14 scavenger hunt.

The hunt is part of the celebration of the launch of the Olympia’s newest bus route.

The new bus route, which began service earlier this month, connects downtown Olympia, The Olympia Farmers Market and the Capitol Campus.

Participants ages 18 or older can explore the route while competing for prizes, including gift cards from local businesses.

The scavenger hunt runs through January, with entries due by Friday, Feb. 7.

Route 14, similar to the former Dash service, operates on weekdays with 30-minute intervals from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. TRPC aims to promote ridership and support Olympia businesses.

To join, participants must:

  • Visit at least five participating businesses along Route 14.
  • Collect a signature at each location by solving a clue.
  • Take a photo showing their use of Route 14, such as riding the bus or stopping at a bus stop.
  • Submit their scavenger hunt card and photo to TRPC by email or text.

No purchase is required, and only one entry per person is allowed.

Winners will be selected on Monday, Feb. 10, and awarded gift cards from participating businesses.

Participating businesses include Browsers Bookshop, The Bus Stop Olympia, Drip Espresso Bar, Old School Pizzeria, Ossa Skinworks, Rainy Day Records, RevMo Choppers and Coffee, The Sidewalk Café, and the Sound and Vision Living.

Scavenger hunt cards are available for download on the TRPC website or at participating locations. Submissions can be emailed to ThurstonCommutes@trpc.org or sent via text to (360) 741-2521.
