Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a car crash along Littlerock Road SW that left one man with life-threatening injuries on Friday night, Oct. 17.

The incident involved two vehicles, said Sheriff Derek Sanders in a social media post.

According to the post, a Subaru station wagon was seen traveling along Littlerock Road SW and passing multiple vehicles in a reckless manner before colliding head-on with another car. The driver of the Subaru suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Responding deputies said a small amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine was found in the suspect’s pocket. Investigators are obtaining a search warrant to test the suspect’s blood.

The other vehicle involved carried an adult driver and a young child. Both suffered serious but nonlife-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

While an immediate arrest could not be made due to the suspect’s condition, charges are expected to follow once the investigation is complete. Possible charges include vehicular assault, reckless driving and driving under the influence. The suspect was not identified.
