Motorcycle chase ends in crash and arrest in West Olympia, driver not injured

A Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) deputy attempted to stop a street bike on I-5 yesterday at about three a.m., because the license plate not being visible.

According to the TCSO post, the rider fled, initiating a pursuit that led onto Highway 101 and into West Olympia.

The chase ended when the rider, later identified as Artour Youri Chmorgoun, crashed at the intersection of Harrison Avenue NW and Division Street NW.

“The rider was in possession of suspected fentanyl pills and admitted to smoking fentanyl prior to fleeing,” TCSO reported.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked into TCSO jail for charges including attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of a controlled substance synthetic narcotic (fentanyl), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
