Posted

If you missed tonight’s Olympia Light Parade in the city’s southeast area, you’ll still have a last chance to see it on Tuesday, December 10.

City vehicles from the Olympia Police Department, Community Planning and Development, Public Works, Parks, Arts & Recreation and Fire Department will be lit up and decorated for the public’s viewing pleasure in the spirit of the holidays, passing by different city streets at different areas on designated days.

The parade has already been held in the Northeast and South Capitol neighborhood Thursday, November 30, and in Southeast Olympia tonight.

Tuesday’s parade at the West Olympia neighborhoods will start 6 pm. and will start and end at Evergreen Christian Center, 4400 NW Glencoe Road, following this route. The map also highlights several locations best suited for viewing the procession.

Parade observers are asked not to cut in front of the parade vehicles and ensure their vehicles are parked at least 30 feet away from the intersections the parade will pass through.

Community members may visit the city’scities website for more information.

The date doesn’t add up, would it be Sunday the 10th or Tuesday the 12th?

Yes, the parade came down our street this evening. Many thanks to our City workers for taking the time to decorate and bring the spirit of the season to our community.
