During their first meeting of 2024 yesterday, January 2, Thurston’s Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) scheduled an election for their next board meeting on January 9.
Last November 30’s work session, District 3 Commissioner Tye Menser was nominated to the Chair, and District 4 Commissioner and former Tenino City Mayor Wayne Fournier was nominated as Vice Chair.
The commissioners have moved the election up on its agenda, and the turnover for the next chair will be in the first part of the next meeting.
The board is also looking for a new County Manager, with interviews scheduled for Friday, January 26.
All commissioners will be included in the interviews scheduled within this month. The board will select the new manager from the current pool of four candidates.
