The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is searching for a man accused of firing at a deputy during a pursuit on the afternoon of Thursday, May 8, according to a report posted on its social media site.
The incident began when the sheriff's office was alerted that the suspect, identified as Damien Madison, was traveling in a vehicle from Grays Harbor County toward Thurston County.
A deputy spotted the vehicle near Tenino and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect was riding in the vehicle driven by another person.
The driver initially complied but decided to flee, prompting a pursuit down Highway 507 and continued onto Military Road to Waldrick Road SE.
During the pursuit, the 27-year old suspect allegedly threw objects and opened fire at deputies with what authorities believe to be an AR-15 rifle.
After almost crashing, the vehicle stopped, but the suspect was able to escape on foot into the Chehalis Western Trail.
The female driver, identified as Americus Lee Wilson, was arrested. She was transported to Thurston County Jail and booked for first-degree rendering criminal assistance and eluding a police vehicle, records show.
According to officials, Madison is wanted on several outstanding felony warrants.
The sheriff's office warned the public that the suspect is armed and dangerous, and that no one should attempt to approach the suspect. They also urged anyone who may have seen Madison or has information about his whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
“He was last seen wearing a black hat with a red bill, black t-shirt and sunglasses. He is 5’10, 170 lbs. with brown eyes and dark hair,” the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office confirmed that no deputies were injured and no firearms were discharged during the chase.

I was walking in the woods a few hours ago when the suspect may have driven by and deposited a stolen vehicle at the end of Sheldon Road SE. Four sheriff’s vehicles responded to the neighbor calling in the car. I think I will stay away until they find him.

For heaven's sakes, Thurston County Courthouse and Sheriff's office, if this critter is captured do NOT NOT NOT let him out on bail. PLEASE.
Bail for a criminal like this is stupid. A criminal only has to pay 10% of the bail a judge orders. Too many times the criminal gets a hand slap and is back out on the street before the paperwork has been signed.

Soft on crime democrats and their judges love guys like this. If they actually gave a real crap about crime and gun violence they would stop releasing violent felons back onto the streets over and over.
