Man arrested after alleged multiple sexual assault of friend’s minor daughter

A mother has sought the help of authorities after her 11-year-old daughter confessed to her that she had been sexually molested by their family friend multiple times.

Olympia Police report that they received a call on February 2 from a concerned mother who revealed that her daughter had been subjected to multiple instances of rape and sexual assault allegedly perpetrated by a family friend.

The incidents reportedly occurred over a span of several years, which started when the victim was just six years old.

Most of these instances happened when they left their daughter with the suspect when they went out on dates.

The parents trusted the suspect as he grew up with the victim’s father.

The victim’s mother stated that when his husband was still a child, his parents took in the suspect when he was eighteen years old and worked for them at their restaurant.

When interviewed at the Monarch Child Justice and Advocacy Center at 3020 Willamette Dr. NE, Lacey, the minor victim, recounted the details of the molestation, saying the first time the suspect abused her was in 2018 when she was six years old, followed in 2019, and the third time happening just last year.

The mother disclosed that her daughter told her that the suspect “threatened to do the same thing to her baby sister if she told anyone about the rapes and assaults.” The victim also reportedly said that he told her that he would say she was lying if she told anyone.

Further investigation into the suspect's background revealed that two weeks before the victim's parents reported the crimes, the suspect was involved in a church fire incident in a Portland church where he is currently based, which resulted in the deaths of two pastors.

With the assistance of Portland Fire Investigations, detectives arrested the suspect on February 29 and brought him back to Olympia for interrogation.

During the interrogation, the suspect denied all allegations and issued threats directed towards the person in Portland Fire Investigations who assisted in the arrest and the victim's family.

The suspect has been charged with first-degree child rape, unlawful imprisonment, and indecent liberties with forcible compulsion in connection with the assaults on the minor victim.

The investigation is ongoing as of this writing.

Castrate him before he's sent to prison for life.

Unfortunately castration will not necessarily stop the compulsion. Life without possibility of parole in general population will be the worst for him. Many prisoners have daughters.

Hopefully the victim will receive all the psychological care she will likely need for many years, and the parents can forgive themselves.
