A machine recount of ballots cast in the Port of Olympia Commission, District No. 2 race confirmed victory for challenger Jerry Toompas in the Nov. 4 General Election.
The results of the recount were released by the Thurston County Auditor's Office Elections Division on Friday, Dec. 4.
"After the machine recount, one vote originally recorded as a write-in changed to a vote for (incumbent) Bob Iyall," said the Thurston County Canvassing Board in a brief statement.
Toompas received a total of 39,296 votes in the certified count and the same number of votes in the machine recount.
Iyall received a total of 39,106 votes in the certified count and 39,107 in the machine recount.
Write-ins received 350 votes in the certified count and 349 votes in the machine recount.
