Lacey is accepting grant applications from homeowner associations (HOA) and informal neighborhoods for its Lacey Neighborhood Grant Program (LNGP).

In its social media post, the city said it will award $2,500 “for projects that foster community pride, beautify the city, and expand community-member involvement.”

“To facilitate this initiative, the City Council implemented the Lacey Neighborhood Grant Program (LNGP) and has allocated $60,000 to this program, to improving our area neighborhoods,” Lacey further explained in its website.

According to the city, HOAs and neighborhoods may apply for grants in the following categories:

  • Neighborhood Beautification
  • Safe Neighborhoods & Disaster Preparedness
  • Environmental Sustainability & Resiliency
  • Board Education & Organization Development
  • Compassion
  • Neighborhood Art & Monument Structures
  • National Night Out Community Events

Applicant organizations must be from within the city limits, Lacey stressed.

Interested groups may study the grant guidelines and submit their application by March 31. The city will then release the results around the third week of April.
