A Lacey man was taken into custody after an investigation into alleged illegal firearm activity at a residence in the 5400 block of Pattison Lake Drive SE.

The suspect, who was not identified, was arrested after officers executed a search warrant at the property on Oct. 28, the Lacey Police Department said in a social media post.

Authorities began looking into the case after receiving information that the suspect, a convicted felon, was allegedly producing weapons using 3D printing equipment.

Investigators obtained a warrant and conducted a search with support from Thurston County SWAT, SIRT (Statewide Incident Response Team), Washington State Police (WSP) Aviation and WSP/FBI bomb squad. The suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.

During the search, officers reported finding two loaded 3D printed firearms, firearm parts made with 3D printing materials, and devices resembling spray weapons and replica explosives.

According to investigators, the items did not contain explosive materials. Additional weapons, ammunition and reinforced barriers on doors and windows were also located inside the residence.

The suspect was transported to Thurston County Corrections Facility and booked on two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of manufacturing an unlawful firearm.
