Lacey kicks off January with upcoming community events

Lacey is hosting a variety of community events this month, offering opportunities for education, service, and fun. Here’s what’s coming up: 

The Evergreen Ballroom 

Jan. 9 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Learn about the rich history of the Evergreen Ballroom with educator and writer Rebecca Sanchez. Her presentation will delve into the cultural and musical significance of this iconic venue, based on her research published in Thurston Talk.  

This hybrid event will be in-person at Lacey City Hall, Council Chambers, and online. Registration is required for online attendance only.  

 Doors open at 6 p.m.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day 

Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 
Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by participating in a day of service focused on environmental restoration. Volunteers will engage in site cleanup, tree care and mcuh more. 

 Dress for the weather and wear durable shoes or boots. Tools, gloves, warm drinks and treats will be provided.  

 Lacey Teen Late Night 

Jan. 24 from 7-10 p.m. 

 Calling all middle schoolers in North Thurston public schools. Enjoy a night of karaoke, open gym, video games, inflatables and more at Nisqually Middle School. 

 This event is open to sixth, seventh,and eighth graders, and is a fun opportunity to socialize and make friends.
