Lacey Chamber awards laud local businesses and people

Lacey South Sound Chamber recognized local businesses during its Lacey South Chamber Awards Best in Biz yesterday.

“The business community has been through a lot during this pandemic and we think it is more important than ever to show appreciation and recognition of that,” said executive director Blake Knoblauch in a press release.

Held at the Indian Summer Golf and Country Club, the event honored local enterprises and organizations for their achievements and contributions to the community, with two new awards recognizing businesses who have shown resiliency and longevity.

The Got Grit Award:  Sandstone Distillery

The Got Grit Award recognizes institutions able to adapt to the changes brought about by the pandemic.

The Legacy Award: Merle Norman Cosmetics

The Legacy Award is given to Lacey businesses that have stayed open for more than 20 years and have become a community landmark.
