Lacey calling on local students to join youth council

Lacey is inviting community members to join its youth council to provide input and advocate for the city’s youth.

According to the city’s website and social media, Lacey is currently accepting applications from representatives from North Thurston High School, Pope John Paul II High School, River Ridge High School, and Timberline High School to speak for the North Thurston schools and home schools to give around 30 hours of community service as a councilmember and attend meetings twice a month.

The youth council will be made up of 15 members and will serve on the city’s various advisory boards including:

  • Parks, Culture, and Recreation Board
  • Library Board
  • Commission on Equity
  • Historical Commission

Interested applicants can fill out and submit the signup form until June 30, or contact Management Analyst Sadie Siglin at 360-456-7788 or ssiglin@ci.lacey.wa.us.
