Lacey is sending out a call for blood donations after the city’s community blood supply dropped “to emergency low levels” earlier today.
In its Facebook post, Lacey revealed that patients’ need for blood is outpacing blood donations, adding that local patients used 620 units of blood more than was being donated last week.
“There is not enough blood on the shelves to do that again,” the city warned.
The city is asking community members to schedule a donation and set an appointment online or call 800-398-7888.
Lacey has added more mobile donation opportunities throughout the region and said that same-day appointments are available.
