InGenius!, the local artisan gallery and boutique in Yelm has announced plans for its one-year celebration, this Saturday, July 30.
“Meet the InGenius Artists”
The public will be able to peruse art and meet the 40+ artists and artisans with their work available in the gallery, “co-creator” Andrea Levanti said in a press release.
InGenius! artist and instructor Payette Still will offer face painting outdoors at the InGenius! Summer Arts Market which is held in the greenspace between InGenius! and the Yelm Skatepark.

When InGenius! opened it started with 10 local artists and has grown to more than 40 local artists with a wide variety of art styles to enjoy.
“Crazy as it seemed to open a business in 2021,” Levanti says, “people’s responses every day prove to us that this was undoubtedly an idea whose time had come for Yelm. People here are hungry to experience art on a regular basis whether learning or shopping or sometimes just coming in to feel the beautiful energy the space holds.” Fleitas adds, “It’s wonderful to see people’s reactions when they come in and even better to see their moods lifted as they leave.”
The gallery and boutique is located in Yelm in the former JZ Rose location at 207 First St. S across from Yelm City Park. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

My wife and I had heard about InGenius! and decided to visit there last Saturday after visiting the Thurston County Fairgrounds. We hadn't known that this gallery existed and were really just curious. What a enriching experience it was to be there on a sunny afternoon. Andrea was an engaging host and very knowledgeable about the emerging artist scene in Yelm and other parts of Thurston county. InGenius! Is one of the best galleries that we've visited in the last 20 years in the Pacific Northwest. Anyone that appreciates art, including uniquely western wood carving, should stop in. A marvelous experience awaits!
