New ramps will lead to the new roundabouts

The northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp and on-ramp at Exit 102 to Trosper Road SW will be closed from 9 p.m., Friday, July 21, to 5:00 a.m., Monday, July 31.

“This extended closure will allow crews to reconfigure the ramps and complete the new roundabout on 6th Avenue SW,” explained Tumwater in a press release.

The city added that a signed detour will be in place to assist drivers access NB I-5 through Trosper Road south to Tumwater Boulevard and vice versa. Motorists are advised to drive with caution when passing the area and to follow all signage and instructions.

“Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the ramp closure,” the city said.

After the ramp is reopened, the city said the newly configured ramps will carry exiting traffic to and from Capitol Boulevard via 6th Avenue SW and Lee Street.
