Two local men were arrested on multiple state charges, including distribution of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl, along with possession of stolen firearms, on Thursday, September 2.

Alex Thompson, 31, of Tumwater, and Jaiden Wells, 24, of Lacey, were arrested after the Thurston County Narcotics Taskforce, Homeland Security and the FBI conducted an operation targeting a drug trafficking organization within Thurston County.

Thompson is being held in the Thurston Jail on one charge of intent to distribute heroin.

Wells is being held on five charges in the Thurston Jail, including intent to distribute heroin, intent to distribute a synthetic narcotic while armed, unlawful possession of a firearm, heroin, and possession of a stolen firearm.

The arrest was part of Operation Crazy Ivan, where local distributors are attempting to move large quantities of Mexican-sourced heroin, cocaine and fentanyl pills. A search warrant was executed, netting over one pound of fentanyl pills, over half a pound of heroin, one and a half pounds of cocaine, multiple firearms, including several that were stolen, and $54,000 in cash.

This joint investigation has disrupted and dismantled a major source of narcotics distribution in the Thurston County area, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office press release.
