A City of Olympia contractor is scheduled to begin modifications and upgrades to the roundabout at Henderson Boulevard and Eskridge Boulevard on Monday, Oct. 27.
Work was originally expected to start on Tuesday, Oct. 21, but was pushed back a week. The reason for the delay was not disclosed.
"This project will modify the center island to encourage drivers to navigate the roundabout at slower speeds," said the City of Olympia Public Works Department in a construction and traffic alert.
Work hours will be Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction work is scheduled to last one month. The schedule is dependent on the weather.
"Travelers can expect lane restrictions and traffic delays and should choose an alternate route if possible. Flaggers will direct motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists through the work zone," the public works department sadi.
People are encouraged to obey all traffic control and posted speeds, as they move through the work zone.
