Former soldier gets 30 years for raping two children in military bases, including JBLM

A former soldier was sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping two young children in military bases overseas and in the U.S., including Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Lewis Patrick Thompson, 40, will be on lifetime supervised release after his prison term, according to a press release by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Washington.

Thompson has been jailed at the Federal Detention Center in SeaTac since his arrest in July 2020. He pleaded guilty in October 2022 and was sentenced last week.

Citing case records, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said the assaults occurred when Thompson was acting as the children’s caregiver.

When the children were 11 years old, they disclosed the abuse to trusted adults, with the Army Criminal Investigation Division and the FBI investigating the matter soon after.

U.S. District Judge Robert Bryan will determine at a future hearing the amount of restitution that Thompson must pay the children for counseling and care that will be required due to the abuse.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Hampton prosecuted the case.

I am a 21 year career soldier, now retired. 30 years in prison? I'm betting he'll be in the chomo section of the prison, the one inhabited by unrepentent child molestors.

If it were legal, I'd save the government a ton of money by making sure he NEVER raped anything ever again, as well as saving them money in feeding and housing the monster.
