Two people arrested, fentanyl seized in Olympia-Lacey drug crackdown

Posted

Information from a resident led Olympia Police Department personnel to arrest two suspects and seize cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, authorities said in a press release.

In early November 2024, the Olympia Police Department (OPD) received information from a concerned resident about a fentanyl dealer operating in Olympia and Lacey.

Acting on the report, OPD and Lacey Police Department personnel launched a joint investigation, which tracked the suspect’s movements over several weeks.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 55-year-old man on multiple counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance — synthetic narcotic and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Search warrant

Information gathered during the investigation pointed detectives to a residence on Union Avenue.

On Dec. 18, 2024, officers executed a search warrant at the property and arrested a 35-year-old woman.

She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, introducing contraband into a correctional facility in the second degree and additional outstanding warrants.

During the search, detectives seized cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, which contributed to the ongoing fight against synthetic drug trafficking in Thurston County.

“The Olympia Police Department also appreciates the assistance of the Thurston County Sheriff Narcotics Task Force and Washington State Department of Corrections who assisted in the investigation,” the OPD said.

Investigation ongoing

Both suspects were booked into Thurston County Jail.

According to the OPD, the investigation is ongoing and authorities have not ruled out additional arrests as detectives continue to trace the extent of the drug distribution network.

C'mon! You're purporting to be a "news" organization Names of arrestees and locations of offenses and/or arrests are public record. The two jurisdictions named (Olympia and Lacey) cover a LOT of area, many neighborhoods, and thousands of residents. How is anyone supposed to determine where they should be watchful - if the offenses took place nearby them - or if the perpetrators were their neighbors? A little information please.

I agree with bokat. Adding the names give parents in the area a chance to talk to their children about it especially if the kids know them,

One can look up crime statistics on the sheriffs website and see what is going on. Check it out, be proactive and look for the information. https://www.thurstoncountywa.gov/departments/sheriff/useful-information-and-frequently-asked-questions/crime-mapping-system

Question for bobkat and Shushu. Do you monetarily support Jolt?
