Female suspect allegedly shoots boyfriend, flees to Pierce County

A woman who allegedly shot her boyfriend was arrested after fleeing to Pierce County and getting stopped there.

On January 21, Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies responded to a shooting complaint at a residence near Vail Road SE and Bald Hills Road SE just before noon. TCSO reported in a news release on social media.

The victim, a male in his 50s and a resident at the house reported being shot by his on-and-off-again girlfriend, who fled the scene in the victim's vehicle armed with the firearm used in the incident.

Detectives promptly launched an investigation into the shooting, obtaining information that led them to an address in Pierce County where the suspect was believed to have fled.

TCSO deputies and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department coordinated efforts and responded to the specified residence where she was arrested later on.

The suspect has been booked into the Thurston County Jail on charges of second-degree attempted murder and domestic violence.

The victim, who sustained a gunshot injury, received medical treatment at a local hospital.

Thurston County detectives are actively continuing their investigation into the incident.
