Downtown Olympia to host Halloween festivities

The Olympia Downtown Alliance is inviting families and friends to join in on the  LoveOly Downtown for Halloween fest, which includes a scavenger hunt and pet costume contest.

“Downtown Olympia is the place to be this Halloween,” said Desiree Freeland, Olympia Downtown Alliance Executive Director, in announcing the event.

“We’re thrilled to create a space where families, kids, and pets can celebrate together while supporting our local businesses.”

Pet parents can also register their fur babies in a Pet Costume Contest on Oct. 31 for a shot at the first, second and third prizes.

There will be special guest judges from Banfield Pet Hospital, Concern for Animals and Oly Paws. People can oin the fun from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 5th Avenue and Washington Street.

Trick-or-treating will be held at downtown shops from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 31.
