Della Mae Broyles Allan of Olympia, Washington, passed away at her home on Aug. 28 with her loved ones and family by her side. She was born in Kalispell, Montana, to parents Charles Sias and Laura Belle Heath Sias as the oldest of her three siblings in the family: Darleen, Velma and Georgia.
Della graduated from Yelm High School in 1948 and was married to Jessie Broyles in the same year. Later in life, Della was married again to Ron Allan in 1973 on March 23 in Olympia, Washington. Della was the mother of seven children: Charleen, Diane, Merle, Margie, Dale, David and Donna. Della was also a working mother and worked at the Washington State Department of Licensing in Titles and Registration.
In her own time, Della was an avid reader of detective novels and the bible. She was a natural at the piano and had a wonderful alto voice. She and Ron often enjoyed camping together.
Wherever Della lived, her door was always open. She always made sure everyone was fed, clothed and housed. This would include animals strayed out of their way. Every fall she made sure all of the kids had their school supplies and had new clothes.
There was always music in the house, whether it was her playing piano, or one of the kids on their guitar. Her skills in music were utilized at many church services and Della became someone who other church members could come to for guidance.
Della is preceded in death by her sisters Darleen and Velma, and by her granddaughter Leah. She is survived by her husband Ron of 52 years, sister Georgia, all of her children and many grandchildren.
During her last few years, Della and Ron spent many days camping in their RV. Ron dedicated his life to taking care of Della until she passed.
