The Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division announced on Friday, Sept. 20, that it has mailed over 10,111 ballots to military and overseas voters registered in the county.

Military and overseas voters must return the ballot via email or fax by 8 p.m. on Election Day on November 5.

If voters are returning the ballot by regular mail, they must sign and postmark their ballots by Election Day.

The county auditor’s office advises military and overseas voters to contact its Elections Division at 360-786-5408 or elections@co.thurston.wa.us if they have not received their ballot by October 2.

For mail-in voters who are not in the military or overseas, the ballots will be mailed by October 10, according to the county auditor’s office.

Once received, mail-in ballots may be sent early via a postal carrier or returned to any of the 30 ballot drop boxes in the county by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

After voting, voters may check the status of their ballot on VoteWA.gov. Voters are advised to wait three to five days after mailing for the status of their ballot to be updated.
