Following a September 12 report that a corrections trainee had "made discriminatory remarks pertaining to Hispanic and Muslim people of color," the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) announced today that the individual resigned.
“The conduct and dishonesty of this former employee does not reflect the values of Thurston County Sheriff’s Office or the Citizens we serve,” TCSO assured.
According to a release, TCSO received a report from the Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) about a corrections officer at the academy.
“The deputy was placed on emergency suspension, and CJTC conducted an internal investigation,” TCSO announced.
TCSO added that the deputy lied in the CTJC investigation, leading to its own probe and the trainee's resignation.
The TCSO said that a continued investigation found that the deputy would have been terminated had they not resigned.
TCSO said it informed CJTC of its examination results. CJTC has the authority to revoke law enforcement personnel’s certifications, preventing them from being hired back to any law enforcement.

Thank you, TCSO, you've most likely avoided a Bigger Problem and A Costly Lawsuit.
Hope the Former Employee gets the Message....
That type of Attitude is NOT WELCOME in Most Circles.
And Never in Our County.
