An employee of a Lacey warehouse has been accused of stealing up to $12,000 worth of merchandise to sell online.

Last week, the warehouse supervisor reported to authorities that there had been a lot of employee theft in recent months, according to the Lacey Police Department in a social media post.

The supervisor pulled up an eBay account that he suspected was run by one of his employees. The worker later admitted to stealing items from the warehouse and selling them on the said online store.

A search of the suspect’s vehicle yielded over $1,000 in merchandise boxed up and ready for shipping. Another $6,800 worth of merchandise was also found in the suspect’s home, police said. In total, the merchandise that was recovered and returned to the merchant was worth around $8,000. The rest was not accounted for in the report.

The stolen merchandise was returned to the warehouse. The suspect was booked on trafficking stolen property, organized theft, and retail theft.
