The City of Lacey is accepting sealed bids for the rehabilitation of the Hawks Prairie Reservoir.
The project, partially funded through a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) hazard mitigation grant, is estimated to cost between $6.8 million and $7.3 million.
Sealed bids will be received at Lacey City Hall, 420 College St. SE, until 2:30 p.m. on April 21. Bids will be publicly opened in person and via YouTube livestream.
The rehabilitation project targets the 4 million gallon facility at 4040 Marvin Road NE. It covers structural, electrical, mechanical and civil improvements, including rafter and roof repairs, replacement of reservoir appurtenances and updates to the cathodic protection system.
The contract also calls for electrical upgrades, full interior and exterior coatings and containment, and installation of new foundation and anchor chairs, vaults and connections. Additional scope covers water line installation, a new fire hydrant, asphalt pavement, a retaining wall and a concrete pad.
The bid documents separate work into FEMA-funded and non-FEMA portions, with alternates covering interior and exterior reservoir finish replacement or repair. A 9.70 percent sales tax rate applies to all schedules.
Bids must include a certified check or bid bond equal to 5 percent of the total proposal amount, with a performance and payment bond equal to 100 percent of the contract amount due upon award.
The contractor must execute the contract and provide insurance documents within 10 calendar days of award. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
A nonmandatory prebid conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, at the reservoir site.
For information, project documents are available at the city’s web page.
