City of Lacey seeking input on funding uses for block grant

Posted

Residents and business owners in the City of Lacey are being asked to weigh in on funding uses for future community development activities.

The city is inviting the public to review and provide input on the draft Community Development Block Grant 2025-27 Consolidated Plan, as well as the 2025 annual Action Plan. The opportunity is available until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 25.

“The (2025-27 Consolidated Plan) outlines community needs, resources, priorities, and activities to be funded through the (Community Development Block Grant) program over the three-year period,” said the City of Lacey in its invitation to participate.

“The 2025 (annual Action Plan) summarizes the actions, activities, and resources — both federal and non-federal — that will be used in 2025 to address the needs and goals outlined in the Consolidated Plan.”

The City of Lacey said it anticipates receiving $348,393 in Community Development Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2025.

“Based on community input, a housing and homelessness needs assessment, market analysis, and a review of non-housing community needs, the (city) recommends three areas for inclusion in the (2025-27 Consolidated Plan,” said the City of Lacey.

Those areas are public facilities and infrastructure, housing and public services.

The plans can be reviewed either online or in person. To review the plans online visit CityofLacey.org/CDBG. To review the plans in person, go to Lacey City Hall, 420 College St. SE on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
