Capitol Boulevard in Tumwater lane closures until April 20 for utility installations

Tumwater’s Capitol Boulevard and its intersection with Trosper Road SW will be undergoing roadwork this week and the next and will have traffic interruptions.

According to the city’s media release, crews will be at the site from today, April 10, until Thursday next week, April 20, for the area’s next phase of utility installations involving saw-cutting, pavement removal, concrete panel demolition, excavation and trenching, and storm sewer installation on Capitol Boulevard from Trosper Road SW to the north.

Motorists are advised that the roads will be reduced to single lanes in each direction from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., while nighttime traffic from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. will be controlled by flaggers who will direct traffic of a one-way, alternating street, as the construction requires.

“Drivers should expect traffic congestion and delays. Drive carefully and use alternate routes where possible,” Tumwater cautioned.
