Rear door bus pad improvements for Intercity Transit are going to impact traffic in downtown Olympia through the end of next week.

The work will occur at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Washington Street, and along Capitol Way between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue.

"Traffic impacts along Capitol Way will occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with the roadway fully reopened at the end of each day," said the City of Olympia in a construction and traffic alert.

"Impacts at 4th (Avenue) will also occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., while impacts at Washington (Street) will continue through (Aug. 28)."

The bus stop at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Washington Street will be temporarily relocated 105 feet west, near the US Bank building.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes or allow additional travel time through the area.
