Boo Bash! returns for Halloween fun in October

Join the museum’s fall costume party tradition

Boo Bash! returns with family-friendly thrills and spooky treats from Oct. 25 to Oct. 31. 

The Hands On Children’s Museum (HOCSM) will host various sub-events during Boo Bash, including a glow zone, a straw bale maze,and live demonstrations. 

Attendees have the chance to press apples into cider, grind autumn harvest grains, hunt for fossils and gems, make paper marigolds for Dia de los Muertos, go on a scavenger hunt and more. 

Activities start daily at 10 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m. Online reservations are recommended. 

General admission tickets for adults cost $18.95, and sensory-friendly tickets cost $7.50. Children's museum members may apply discounts during ticket purchase. 

Sensory-friendly 

There will also be a sensory-friendly Boo Bash! on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. 

Special Boo Bash activities for families of children with sensory sensitivities will be available on Sunday, Oct. 26 during normal sensory friendly hours from 9 to 10 a.m. 

A sensory-friendly room will also be available on Oct. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m., and Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Monster of Scare-Emonies contest 

The official Boo Bash! Monster of Scare-Emonies contest for children will be held on Oct. 25. 

The chosen Monster of Scare-Emonies will win a free family pass, VIP Boo Bash entry, priority parking, have the opportunity to assist Dr. Science with an exciting experiment, lead the costume parade, and get a goodie bag with a $25 gift certificate to the Museum Store.  

Only one entry per child is allowed. The entry must be submitted before Oct. 15. The winner will be announced on Oct. 17.  

The winner is required to be on-site to perform Boo Bash! Monster of Scare-Emonies duties (with a parent, if necessary).
