August 21 murder suspect arrested

Lacey Police have arrested the suspect alleged to have shot a 43-year-old man dead at the 5500 block of Chelan Lane SE on Monday, August 21.

Scott M. Brodrick was apprehended last Friday, August 25, by Lacey Police and Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputies at a fast-food restaurant parking lot in Quinault Drive, Lacey, around 6:38 p.m.

“Broderick was initially non-compliant but was taken custody through less-lethal force, and contact from the K9,” Lacey Police reported in a social media post. A Sheriff’s SWAT team was also involved in the arrest.

After receiving treatment at an area hospital, the suspect was booked at the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office Jail on an arrest warrant for murder in the 1st degree, while armed with a firearm while authorities also made additional arrests for those who have provided assistance to the suspect.

“Detectives continue to investigate,” Lacey Police said, “and additional arrests for rendering criminal assistance may occur.
