A 12-year-old girl was arrested in connection with the large fire that damaged the former Ostrom Mushroom Farm along Steilacoom Road SE in Lacey May 31.
Lacey Police Department said the girl was arrested on probable cause for arson. She was identified by Lacey police and a School Resource Officer with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl was also booked for second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment over an assault that was described as unrelated, of another minor on the same day near the location of the fire.
A video from Lacey Fire District Three showed that the thermal column was visible all over the district.
Lacey police said in a social media post that detectives and the Lacey Fire Department will continue to investigate the incident.
