The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking public input for its study on a proposed roundabout at the intersection of State Route 510, McAllister Court SE and Rockcress Drive SE southeast of Lacey.
WSDOT launched an online open house today explaining the planned projects, including the benefits of a roundabout on the site and a survey that concerned community members, especially motorists using the thoroughfares, may answer.
“WSDOT routinely reviews intersections in rural areas on the state highway system to find ways to reduce potential collisions,” said WSDOT in a press release.
Community members who wish to participate in the survey may access the survey form using the free Wi-fi access in the following Timberland Regional Library locations:
Answers to the online survey will be used by WSDOT to finalize the design of the roundabout set to be built in 2024.
“Studies show roundabouts help reduce the potential for crashes while keeping people moving,” WSDOT asserts.
