Virtual Public Forum

"Working with local governments" -- Wed., April 28, 6:30 p.m.

Meet elected officials from O, L, T and Thurston County

Posted

Elected leaders from Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and Thurston County will take questions from the members of the public at a one-hour public forum tomorrow (Wed., April 28)  at 6:30 p.m. that will take place over Zoom.

In addition, hear local journalist Janine Gates tell what she calls the "short version" of her presentation about how citizens banded together to prevent the Nisqually Delta from being industrialized.  "The Nisqually Delta story reinforces that local residents can change the course of history and create the community they want," according to the Thurston County League of Women Voters and Thurston Community Media, co-sponsors of the event.

Scheduled to speak at the event are:

  • Leatta Dahlhoff, Tumwater City Councilmember
  • Lenny Greenstein, Lacey City Councilmember
  • Tye Menser, Thurston County Commissioner
  • Cheryl Selby, Mayor of Olympia

Each is expected to discuss how to be most effective in influencing local decisions and answer questions from the public.

[Editor's notes:  Janine Gates also serves as a volunteer on The JOLT's Board of Advisors, and offers her opinions to us from time to time.  This item updated 4/28/21 at 2:30 pm.]
