Lantern Lights the Library Film Screening with Live Score (OLYMPIA)

This series of events makes local music accessible to people of all ages in a safe, fun environment. This month, the Olympia Timberland Library will run the 1914 silent film, "The Patchwork Girl of Oz" with a live score provided by SQWYRM.
Ladies of Laughter (OLYMPIA)

"Ladies of Laughter" is back by popular demand. Join and be an audience to these three talented comedians this season. The show is recommended for individuals aged 18 and above.
Saturday Passport Fair (Olympia)
-Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Passport services are available for first-time applicants and people whose passports expired more than five years ago. Service is available on a walk-in basis only. The Auditor's Office also provides photo services to anyone who needs a new passport photo.
Death Care and Life Transitions Expo (Tumwater)
-Saturday, March 15, 10 a.m.-3 p.m
Join professionals in death care, grief care, assisted living, and elder counseling and guidance services in a candid and open discussion about life's most challenging issues. Admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Free Japanese Calligraphy Workshop (Olympia)
-Saturday, March 15, 1-5 p.m.
Join artist Chiyo Sanada for a two-hour introductory class in Japanese calligraphy at Tolmie State Park. In celebration of springtime in Japan, the class will focus on creating the kanji (Japanese character) that means "sakura cherry blossom," an important image in Japanese culture and history.
Intro to Blacksmithing (Olympia)

This is a six-hour course designed to expose students to basic blacksmithing techniques. All tools and equipment will be provided.
Pruning for Novices at Closed Loop Park Demonstration Garden (Lacey)
-Saturday, March 15, 9-11 a.m.
The workshop will focus on the basics of pruning various ornamental plants, including pruning tools, the methods of pruning different plant types (trees, shrubs, and multi-stem plants), different pruning cuts (good and bad ones), and the steps of pruning.
MCE: Harmony Sweepstakes a cappella festival (Olympia)
-Saturday, March 15, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
This annual event, in its 40th year, delights a cappella fans of all ages. Groups will compete for a coveted spot at the National Finals in San Rafael, California.
