Lacey Police arrested a man after he allegedly urinated on one of the Intercity Transit Shelters last Thursday.

James Magelssen, 44, of Tacoma, had been in contact with Lacey Police twice on April 29. At 6:49 a.m., he was reported by an IT security guard for “smoking something in a pipe” and was asked to leave, but refused to depart the property.

Lacey Police contacted Magelssen, cited him for trespass, and told him that if he returned, he would be arrested for criminal trespass. Magelssen said that he understood and would not return.

At 9:52 a.m. on the same day, Lacey Police were dispatched back to the IT station, as Magelssen was trespassing and urinating on one of the shelters. Magelssen had left the station property after relieving himself, walking toward Fred Meyer.

Lacey Police contacted Magelssen at the Fred Meyer property, where admitted to officers that he had returned to the IT property after being told by Lacey Police not to.

Magelssen was arrested for criminal trespass and booked into the Nisqually Jail. It was later confirmed by Lacey Police that Magelssen had a $15,000 warrant for criminal trespass by Tacoma Police.

I find the wording of the headline insulting. Why the dog reference? To be cheeky and rude I suspect. Rude.
