Transient woman demands a house she claims city gave her

A transient woman was arrested yesterday after refusing to leave a property she said was “gifted” to her by the city and then proceeded to give two false names to Olympia Police.

Elliote Maricho, 47, showed up at a single-family residence's front door near Cain Road in south Olympia at 3:57 p.m. on May 3 and demanded that she be let inside. Maricho claimed that the city had given her the house as a “gift” and wanted the owner to vacate the premises immediately.

The owner told Olympia Police that she had never met the woman, nor was the house for sale.

The owner said that Maricho was alternating between the front and back doors to the house, slamming her fist, demanding entrance due to “the city” having gifted her the residence. Once Maricho had been denied entry several times, Maricho went to the street side and entered the water meter, manipulating it.

Olympia Police arrived and asked that Maricho collect her property left on the property, but Maricho refused, berating the officer, stating that she hopes “all cops die.”

Maricho provided two false names to officers. First was Lassandra P. Mariano. Second was Juanita Perez. The Olympia Police report determined that Maricho was attempting to evade “responsibility for her crimes.”

Maricho was booked into the Olympia Jail for trespass and making false statements to a law enforcement officer.
