A transient male admitted to defecating in front of a building on a main street in Lacey on Sunday, April 18 at about 3:40 p.m.

After being advised that he was being arrested and taken to jail, Michael Shepherd, 60, threatened the life of the Lacey Police officer who responded to the call.

Shepherd, 60, was found shirtless, wearing green and yellow plaid pants. He admitted to using the flower bed in front of the Anytime Fitness Center at 4200 6th Avenue SE, between two large bay windows.

Shepard had thrown several items into the street, including a red & black jacket and paper he had removed from a nearby garbage can, which he referred to as “makeshift toilet paper.”

After booking Shepherd into Nisqually Jail, the officer returned to the scene and gathered Shepherd’s sleeping linens and brought them to the Lacey Police Station.
